The Colorado Avalanche haven’t had their full roster healthy in what feels like an eternity.

They currently sit in 4th in the Central Division, winning only 13 of 23 games so far this season, underwhelming for the cup champs, but if you’ve seen their line-ups, you would understand.

They played against the 14th (In the east) place Philadelphia Flyers and lost 5-3, getting 2 goals from Alex Newhook and 1 from Mikko Rantanen, but they were outshot 34 to 32.

Nathan MacKinnon left that game injured, and is now reportedly out for around 4 weeks with an upper body injury, so there goes another member of the line-up.

Here is the list of currently injured players: Valeri Nichushkin, Darren Helm, Gabriel Landeskog, Shane Bowers, Evan Rodrigues, Josh Manson, Bowen Byram, Jean-Luc Foudy, Artturi Lehkonen, Kurtis MacDermid, and now Nathan MacKinnon joins the list.

The Avalanche can’t catch a break, but they currently still hold a playoff spot despite missing half of their regular roster. If injuries are going to happen, its better to get them out of the way early in the season, so be ready for a late push and another deep cup run if this Avalanche squad can get healthy and stay healthy.

The Avalanche dominated the playoffs last year, and despite losing star second line center Nazem Kadri in free agency, as well as goaltender Darcy Kuemper to free agency in the summer, the Avalanche roster is still looking very strong and will be one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup again come playoff time.
