Vrsaljko’s journey began in the youth ranks of Dinamo Zagreb, where he made his debut at the age of 17. He quickly established himself as a promising talent and played a crucial role in helping the team win multiple league titles and domestic cups during his time there.

In 2013, Vrsaljko made the bold decision to move to Europe, signing with Italian club Genoa. Though he initially faced challenges adapting to a new environment, his determination and skill saw him enjoy successful stints at Sassuolo and later, Atlético Madrid.

Vrsaljko’s time at Atlético Madrid was marked by impressive performances, both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League. He won the Europa League in the 2017/2018 campaign with Atletico, as well as La Liga in the 2020/2021 season.
