Last night Phil Kessel made NHL history by becoming the new NHL ironman, playing 990 straight games. beating out Keith Yandle who set the record at 989 games. Phil is looking to hit the 1000 games straight mark, which would be an incredible achievement.
Not only did Phil play in his 990th straight NHL game, but Phil ended up scoring his 400th career goal as well. He scored it against the Maple Leafs a couple nights ago, but it was ruled out for offsides. so he did it again, this time against the sharks.
