Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has found himself in a pretty crazy situation because of the Carabao Cup final match up against Manchester United.
Dubravka was on loan at Manchester United earlier in the season, but was recalled by Newcastle due to the two clubs competing for top 4 spots in the Premier League as well as because of both clubs success in the Carabao Cup.
Dubravka made 2 appearances for Manchester United the Carabao Cup, meaning he is cup tied and is not allowed to play for Newcastle in the competition.
Since Dubravka is not allowed to be part of the match day squad for Newcastle, he won’t receive a winners medal if Newcastle win the final, BUT if Manchester United win, he will receive a winners medal because he made 2 appearances in the cup for Manchester United.
A pretty crazy situation to be put into for the keeper, as the only way for him to get a cup winners medal is for his club to lose.
