Hawks
The 25 year old DeJounte Murray averaged a career-high 21.1 points, 9. 2 assists, 8.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game last season, securing an NBA All-Star spot for the first time in his career.

Spurs
Gallinari, 33 years old, averaged an disappointing 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 66 games last season, his second with the Hawks. Gallinari’s $21.45M salary had only been partially guaranteed for $5M, and was set to become fully guaranteed if he remained under contract through today.

The Hawks are also sending a 2023 first-round pick via the Charlotte Hornets, and their own 2025 and 2027 first-round picks to the Spurs in the deal, also involving a pick swap in 2026, according to multiple sources.
Betting corner
San Antonio Spurs betting odds to win a NBA championship this season drastically fall from +35000 to +49000. They’re expected to continue to dive if they are unable to pick up Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine in NBA free agency, and will likely hold the highest odds of winning the #1 overall pick if nothing else is done to improve the current roster.
For the Atlanta Hawks on the other hand, This deal represents a major backcourt upgrade for the Hawks, who will add an All-Star, who is one of the league’s best perimeter defenders. He will complement All-NBA guard Trae Young, and the Hawks did this without giving up any players from their projected 2022/23 roster.
The Atlanta Hawks were +9000 last week to win the NBA Finals. Now, according to Scrimmage, Today they’re +6600 to win the NBA Finals for 2022-2023 NBA season. Are the Hawks worth taking a flyer on? Atlanta might actually be a PROBLEM next season 😳
We’ll find out more what comes out around the league as NBA Free Agency officially starts tomorrow on June 30th at 6pm EST. Expect fireworks for the NBA free agency market once again ladies and gentlemen!
