Connor McDavid is only 26 years old, but is already talked about as one of the best players to ever lace up the skates. This season has been his most impressive yet to this point, as it is still only January and his numbers are almost unbelievable in the modern NHL.

Through 48 games played this season, McDavid has scored 40 goals and has picked up 48 assists for a total of 88 points. We are only just passed the halfway mark of the season, and McDavid is almost at 100 points.

In the 2014-15 NHL season, Jamie Benn of the Dallas Stars won the Art Ross Trophy, awarded to the league’s top point scorer, with 87 points. Benn had a career year, finishing with 35 goals and 52 assists in 82 games.

McDavid already has more points than the top scorer of the 2014-2015 season, and he still had over 30 games left to play. He is extremely close to other Art Ross winners, like 2003-2004 Martin St. Louis who had 94 points, as well as 2013-2014 Sidney Crosby who had 104 points.

The Oilers currently sit third in the Pacific Division, having a great run of games winning their last 6 games in a row. They are only 3 points off division leaders Seattle Kraken.

Can McDavid keep up his amazing form and hit numbers that we haven’t seen in over 20 years?
