Matthew Tkachuk was part of the blockbuster trade of the 2022 summer, when he was traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau and defenseman MacKenzie Weegar, as well as prospect Cole Schwindt and a conditional first-round pick in 2025.
Matthew Tkachuk signed a 8 year, $76,000,000 contract with the Calgary Flames as a sign and trade deal in order to have a 8 year deal with the Panthers.
The 24 year old forward had a career year with the Flames during the 2022-2023 season, scoring 42 goals and assisting 62 goals for a total of 104 points in 82 games played, he also had 68 PIMs, the third highest total in his career.
It took Matthew no time to settle in with the Florida Panthers, in his first 25 games he has scored 13 goals and has 24 assists for a total of 37 points, numbers never seen before in Panthers history.
With two points (1-1-2) tonight vs. DET, Matthew Tkachuk’s 37 points (13-24-37) this season are both the most by a #FlaPanthers skater through their first 25 games with the club and the most by any Panthers skater through their first 25 games of a season in franchise history. pic.twitter.com/xo0qpvxSa5
