Manchester United have been struggling for years since the departure of the great Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013. They have gone through many managers, Mourinho’s time probably being the best, but this dig seemed to be aimed at Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Ralf Rangnick. Here’s what Luke Shaw said, he started off by praising new Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag:

“It’s clear that he’s a top, top manager… He has a structure to play the way he wants us to play.”

But then he went on to say this…

“We haven’t had that for quite a while, and it was clear to see last season, which was extremely disappointing. We have to bounce back, and he has been working us extremely hard, but I think we need it. We’re really looking forward to this season because I know it’s going to be much better than the last one.”

Luke Shaw was clear that Manchester United lacked structure last season, something that even many fans had seen when watching the Red Devils play.

While Luke Shaw is taking a dig at his former Manchester United managers, it should give hope to United fans that better days are to come for the club who hasn’t won a trophy in over 5 years, and did not qualify for the Champions League this upcoming season. Manchester United have found themselves a quality manager, but still only have signed one new player, despite the Premier League season being less than 1 month away. The lack of ambition from the board is another problem the club has been plagued with for years.
