Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny was benched for the entire third period in the Flyers loss to the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night, and it wasn’t because of his play.
We know John Tortorella runs a strict show wherever he is coaching, and this was no exception. Torts has benched many players in his career, I mean just search up Tortorella benching and you’ll find a ton of examples.
This time around, Travis Konecny wanted to know how the Philadelphia baseball team, the Phillies, were doing in their MLB playoff game, so he decided to ask a fan what the score was.
Torts was NOT a fan of this, and ended up benching Konecny for the rest of the game.
