Yes, you read that right. Jonathan Drouin has set a NHL record through the 0 goals he has scored this season.

The 27 year old former first round pick is having quite the interesting season with the Montreal Canadiens. In the 31 games he has played, he’s scored 0 goals but he does have 17 assists for a total of 17 points. During those 31 games, he has 39 shots on goal, averaging just a little over 1 shot per game.

Drouin has never been a prolific goal scorer in the NHL, with his highest goal total being 21 back in the 2016-2017 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has had a lot of injury troubles, playing in only 34 games last season, 44 for the year before, and 27 the year before that. He scored 6 goals in 34 games last season.

Well, with 2 assists last night in the Canadiens 4-0 win against the Blackhawks, Drouin officially became the player with the most points in a single season having scored exactly 0 goals. With his 17 points, he passes Dan Bourbonnais who had 16 points before his first goal in the 1983-1984 season with the Hurrianes, as well as Ville Leino who had 15 assists before his first goal in the 2013-2014 season with the Sabres.

Here is the assist:

A weird record to break, but congrats I guess? We will see how many more assists Drouin can rack up before scoring his first goal.
