Last night the Boston Bruins faced off against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto, but for Michael Bunting, it certainly didn’t feel like a home game based on how the refs were treating him, at least that’s how it seemed.
It was a tight game, being only 3-2 with 10 minutes left in the third, but then the Bruins ran away with it scoring two goals in 3 minutes to win the game 5-2. The Bruins snapped a 3 game game losing, but it wasn’t easy as they were outshot by the Leafs 35 to 29, but got the job done. The Leafs had two powerplays on the night, converting on one of them, but Michael Bunting certainly believes they should have had more powerplays.
Safe to say Bunting was not happy about no call here pic.twitter.com/ukSOPzKTte

Left with a bloody face after being hit by Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo, Bunting was furious that nothing was called on the play and smashed his stick when he get’s back to the bench.
Buting made sure the refs were aware, but that wasn’t even enough to get him a call.

A pretty brutal no call considering he was hit in the face and there was blood, but this isn’t where it ended.

Bunting felt as he was tripped up on this play which would have left him what looks like 1 on 1 against a defenseman. You can then see him laughing and shaking his head on the way back to the bench.
A tough night overall for Bunting and the Leafs, but the Leafs do still sit second in the Atlantic Division, only behind the Bruins of course who are now 13 points ahead of them. Bunting himself is having a decent year, but not putting up the numbers he put up last year which could certainly add to the frustration. This season he has 15 goals and 20 assists for a total of 35 points in 52 games. Last season Bunting had 23 goals and 40 assists for a total of 63 points in 79 games.
