Recently, Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa found himself facing the wrath of New York Yankees fans, who showered him with boos at Yankee Stadium. Correa, seemingly unfazed by the jeers, quipped, “It’s gasoline in your Ferrari. I love it.” However, his performance at the plate has left much to be desired, going hitless in his last two games against the Yankees.

In the two games following his bold statement, Correa went 0 for 8, failing to secure a hit in any of his eight at-bats. This slump contributed to the Twins’ disappointing results in those matches, losing 2-0 and 6-1 to the Yankees. Correa’s struggles have left fans and analysts wondering if the hostile environment at Yankee Stadium is affecting his performance more than he is willing to admit.
Safe to say he got a little too cocky and it got to his head, a fun little rivalry between Correa and Yankees fans. Looks like the Yankees got the best of this battle though.
