In a shocking turn of events the 46-42 Blue Jays have fired their manager Charlie Montoyo. The Jays would make this playoffs if the season ended today so this comes as a surprise but according to Jeff Passan their have been some questions about his leadership in the clubhouse.
If the playoffs started today, the Toronto Blue Jays would be in.

They're 1.5 games out of the top wild card spot in the American League.
That wasn't enough to save Charlie Montoyo's job. Bad losses and questions in the clubhouse about leadership were a devastating combination.
The Jays will finish this season with an internal manager and look to have some of their underachieving rebound. They will need to make some moves at the deadline to address their shaky bullpen and lackluster starting rotation if they want to make some noise in the playoffs.
